Success!

Webmistress found the right login.  Hurray!

This is extremely short because I’m still in a whirlwind down here and haven’t a clue when I’ll have the main working area back in shape to work in.  I have to get the old system out, space around it cleared out so I can work there with this machine, and then again switch to a desktop (which I *very* much prefer) and a new printer.

Meanwhile, there are things to do beyond my immediate needs that must be done.

Many thanks to Karen S., whose organizational skills FAR outreach mine.

God willin’ and the crick don’t rise (though I really wish it would; we definitely need some rain rather than the fire danger warning we’ve got this week), I’ll be able to post at least weekly.

  1. Delighted you’re back with us again. I was hoping the gap in posting meant you’d got inspired with Horngard II, and were weaving intricate plots for all your characters, with chuckles of fiendish glee, rather than problems with internet / plumbing / horses etc.

I’m re-reading Paladin’s Legacy at the moment, and am more than ever in awe of your creative imagination. So MANY things happen in each book. The same is true of the Vatta and Serrano series – many other writers put their characters through a certain number of hoops, and then quickly wind up. (And if it’s a detective story, often ending with a murderer’s confession, which I rather feel is cheating). You keep producing new twists, even in the last 50 pages.

As for rain, I wish we could share. Here in Dublin, normally one of the driest parts of Ireland, we’ve had rain daily for the past 30 days at least, with only today dry enough to give the inches-tall grass its first cut. And now it’s raining again. Still, daffodils are blooming in their thousands along roads and roundabouts, the first delicate leaves are appearing on some trees, and the lengthening daylight lifts the heart.

Best of luck with new computer, printer etc. Changing over is a real pain.

  2. Oh good, you’re back! I was worrying about (and praying for) you. I do hope your new setup will also mean you will be back on Facebook, at least occasionally? I miss it when you don’t post! Meanwhile am re-reading “Kings of the North” and enjoying it as much as I always do (although I always skip the chapters where Beclan makes his terrible mistakes).

    Have a blessed Easter!

    1. Unless I find my old password, there’s no way I can get back on Facebook. It won’t be any different with a new machine. I miss it some, but not as much as when I first lost the contact. A blessed Easter to you, too.

  3. Welcome back! Been sending good vibes your way! This week i find myself wondering about the horse nomads. I imagine the Duke’s children getting into mischief with them now that the oldest and one of the tribes had an adventure together!

    1. In one of the Paladin’s Legacy books, the Duke’s adopted son, out for the day with Dattur the gnome, does indeed have an adventure with them, and that leads to a “deal” between Arcolin and the tribe to let one of his horses run with their mares a season and see if they like the results. Later on, probably yes…Arcolin’s children are likely to be an adventurous bunch and will make friends with the nomad kids, leading to concerns by both sets of parents…of the sort “We like that kid well enough BUT the family….”
